Sonodyn®Medico Star achieves a broadspectrum effect in the case of muscle tension, tendon and joint pain, due to the innovative combination of three treatment methods.
Low-energy ultrasound Vibrations are transferred to the tissue at the molecular level through ultrasound, causing a micromassage and secondary microcurrents as a result of the mechanical stimulation or vibration. The resulting frictional heat has a positive effect on the microcirculation and in turn on the blood circulation. This stimulates the metabolism. The normalisation of muscle tone, the reduction in tissue tension and acidity ease tension and help alleviate pain.
Electrical and magnetic fields The electrical and magnetic fields assist the muscle cells in the better taking up oxygen and nutrients, thereby stimulating the process of regeneration and healing. Cell metabolism and respiration in particular ar positively supported by the electromagnetic field. The magnetic field promotes the oxygen uptake of the red blood cells in particular (erythrocytes), while the electrical field acts on the positively and negatively charged ions and promotes the ion transport. Both phenomena support cell nutrition and intervene to regulate the cellular balance.
Application Localisation of the areas to be treated based on pain symptoms (see illustrations "Pain patterns"). The treatment points may lie within (local) or outside (peripheral or central) the pain zones. Treatment is advantageous on the so called trigger points, i.e. overstimulated points that may refer pain. Hold the Sonodyn®Medico Star in one place or move it slowly in circles during the 10-minute treatment period. After several applications (3-4 times per day is recommended) the trigger points are inactivated with resultant pain alleviation. Continue the treatment over a number of days as required. Application of the gel enables direct contact to be made, i.e. the gel facilitates the passage of the ultrasound into the tissue.
